what colour energy are you?

Purple Vibes

Your Energy is Purple. You are a visionary with unmatched intuition and spiritual consciousness. The mystical world and unexplainable forces fascinate you. There resides in you a true dignity and nobility, and others see you as a worthy leader and loyal friend. You are often very mature, with a deep understanding of human nature, and you will instinctively encourage and guide others toward their full potential.

You find it natural to express yourself aesthetically and artistically, you may be involved in the artistic professions, a religious organization, or in activities that have a degree of ceremony and ritual. You would make a good therapist, healer, psychic, or entrepreneur.

mostly appropriate review by The Journo

The Journo is a new blog which was set up to do blog reviews, with the author's stated purpose that she wishes to brush up on her journalistic skills and get herself 'out there'. I wish her luck; she's obviously putting a lot of time and effort into this.

the point of this entry is that somehow, mostly appropriate has garnered Journo's attention and has been reviewed. I suppose that a tag I left there might have led her to believe I was requesting a review, but actually I was just thanking her for her original tag on my tag board, and saying that I'd be checking back to see who she reviewed & what she had to say. I like review blogs; if nothing else, they're a great source to find new blogs to read, and often they're fascinating in and of themselves with the interaction between the reviewers and the reviewed. most of you reading here will know that there are huge numbers of blogs online now - and the numbers are growing daily. some are just crap, unreadable even, but I'm quite interested in passing spare time reading about peoples' lives and interests, studying writing styles & so on. besides, I'm a bit of a voyeur and do enjoy peeking into strange (meaning 'unknown', for the most part) heads ;).

anyway, I submit for you Journo's review of my blog. agree or disagree? either way, I thank Journo for taking her time to have a look at mostly appropriate and giving me her considered opinions about it. you can find this blog's review here at The Journo. please drop by there to have a look at the other blog reviews too.

mostly appropriate: lozwordz review by The Journo

LOZWORDZ @ Look here

Great colour scheme ! Very nice on the eyes.

Nice looking banner, but it loaded rather slowly so it slowed down loading the whole blog in general.

The dark border around the tag board is quite nice and it draws people in to tag you. Well it did to me.

Good spelling, and overall it's written in slang so i'm not too fussed about it.

Maybe moving all the info regarding 'June 24, 2004 - Peter Dahl-Collins' into the profile would balance out the height of the profile / side section and the entries.

I don't have a lot of complaints but i should say as nice as your blog was, somehow it didn't draw me in as much as I thought it would. But nice job. =)

3 1/2 out of 5 - Nice work !

by the way: I thought Journo's review was fair and mostly appropriate, but I've asked her - if she has time - to explain to me what she means by my blog being written overall in slang. perhaps I'm too unconscious to my usage of slang and therefore don't notice an overuse of it; however, although I do use slang words and phrases here and there I don't personally think my blog can be characterized by such a statement. anyone else have an opinion on this matter? I'd be interested, because if I *do* overuse slang I'd like to get out of that habit. personally I don't see it, though.

nb: the Journo's blog has been disabled now, but I'll keep the button at left & just link to this entry now, since it's part of mostly appropriate's 'history'.

no worries, be calm, hehe. Journo's just using her blog for practising... gotta start somewhere eh? this whole conversation - the question of whether there's slang here or not, how much it's used, what is meant by all the comments & etc - is certainly a lesson in communication, if nothing else! that ought to be valuable.

Luckily I came by just to peruse because now I can go one on one with you, maybe give you a better understanding of where i'm coming from.

In my criteria, I said I would deduct marks for 'too much slang', and rightly I should. If there is too much slang, it would be barely understood by the average reader.

I guess what I was trying to say, but wasn't quite sure how to say it was, your style adds character to what you write. That is why I wasn't fussed about it. While you may use Z's after your words, it is still readable and understandable in all aspects.

I may have used the word 'slang' too loosely, and I apologise for that.

Hopefully this personal message to you brought an understanding between us. I, myself, was wondering why you were questioning that 'slang' subject when I didn't deduct marks from you for it. =)

Many thanks for the links to my site from here. You have a wonderful site =)

the slang, I'm sure... she likes good spelling, but slang is one of the thigns she lists as not liking on blogs.

bit mystifying, but since she didn't really make mention of content specifically, perhaps she just deduced that I use too much slang because of my use of the 'z' at the end of too many wordz on this blog (rather than the 's').

anyway, nice of her to take the time.

"Good spelling, and overall it's written in slang so i'm not too fussed about it."

Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure what she means there either. What exactly is she "not too fussed about"? Is she referring to your spelling or to your slang?
